Marilyn’s style was nothing short of iconic. A fan of feminine dresses, she favoured sweetheart necklines, sequins and halter dresses. White fur wraps often added a further touch of glamour to her ensembles. Wearing some of the big screens most famous costumes (who could forget the white halter neck dress billowing out when she stood on a subway grate).
Polka dots and bow accessories also featured heavily in Marilyn’s outifts; although the stars own private life was troubled, in the public eye she maintained an air of innocence. For daywear, Marilyn loved pencil skirts to compliment and accentuate her curves, which she nearly always teamed with a t-shirt or sweater of the same colour. She also liked to wrap up in polo neck sweaters, which hugged her body while keeping out the cold.
